Bicycles and Bhutan are a
perfect fit. A combination of easy mountain
trails and charming paved roads, allow
visitors to experience this beautiful
country from the saddle. We use Trek 2300
mountain bikes to cover areas of interest in
Western Bhutan including Taktsang Monastery,
Paro, the Haa Valley, Thimphu, Dochula Pass,
and Punakha.
The tour is set up to
accommodate a range of participants, from
those who see a 35km uphill as an
opportunity not to be missed, to those who
wouldn't skip the 40km downhill or the sag
wagon to get them to the top! You don't have
to be a part of the Downhill Bikers Club,
but if you are, our sweep vehicle is at your
service. It is a fun trip
that is full of pleasant hikes and short
days on two wheels or for those who prefer
to roll out the miles, long rides of 70 -
110 km, with memorable stops in rural
Bhutanese towns. In other words, this trip
is designed for families and for groups with
different biking goals.
The group spends each
night together at a variety of
accommodations…from inns in rural villages
to hotels in Bhutan's biggest city, Thimphu.
Small paved roads, moderate trails, and dirt
roads await riders of all abilities on this
amazing tour of western Bhutan. Join us for
this fantastic ride. Please note
organizing private trips for clubs can be
arranged.
